Croatian-based craftsman Klaudijo Nikolic designs and builds unique artistic wooden pieces. Each piece consumes plenty of time. His first bathtub took him 6 months to finish. Nikolic uses no big machines in crafting the handmade wooden bath sinks and tubs. It takes him nowadays between 2 to 3 months depending on the design to accomplish the piece.
Woodworking has been strongly present for centuries in a wide range of usages starting from buildings to small items. Today handmade woodworking is rare to find because of the machinery and mass production. The details which come out as an end result, give the items more value since it can’t be identically duplicated. That’s why we believe in Linesmag that handmade art should be supported and encouraged so we don’t lose all the craftsmen in a few years.
